Senior Project Accountant

Governance & Support

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant to be a valuable contributor in a team on a strategic program. This role is to support on the Global Balance Sheet Program which aims to transform the balance sheet reconciliation process across all segments and regions of CBRE, with specific focuses on Governance and providing support to drive adoption and compliance. This is a new function within CBRE, so it is a good opportunity to help develop this function to support a key Finance process.

What You’ll Do:

  • Complete Quality Control checks on Balance sheet reconciliations and provide feedback to users in order to improve future quality

  • Produce & analyse with recommendations defined KPI reports and distribute to key stakeholders with commentary.

  • Support Finance teams to ensure that key design principles are understood and followed.

  • Liase with Cadency D&T teams to ensure design principles are maintained in Cadency

  • Support Finance users with any deployed templates or relevant technology that are deployed.

  • Provide & support the program team with relevant data and reports as required.

  • Perform & support certain centralised automated reconciliations in Cadency.

  • Responsible for managing tickets raised in ServiceNow relating to Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Work with team in meeting project timelines and milestones, including identification/escalation of risks and issues

  • Partner with technology team to support design and implementation of system enhancements

  • Detailed quality review of balance sheet reconciliations as part of account sign-off process

  • Delivery of training for various groups, and preparation of training material content including practical examples

  • Hypercare support for local teams after go-live

What You’ll Need:

  • Qualified, experienced accountant.

  • Experience of working in RTR in a large multi-national company.

  • Audit experience required. Big 4 experience preferred.

  • US GAAP and SOX experience preferred.

  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliation reviews required.

  • Experience with using balance sheet reconciliation tool preferred.

  • Experience in implementing and working on process improvements.

  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail. Methodical in approach.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders across all levels of seniority, and accurately explain and report activity

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage and prioritise critical deadlines.

  • Ability to interpret accounting policies and standards and effectively communicate this to key stakeholders.

  • Experience in ensuring compliance with accounting policies.

  • Ability to analyse large financial datasets and work with ambiguity

  • Proactive and able to work autonomously and pitch in with other teams when required.

  • Ability to provide timely and accurate financial information.

  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
