About The Role:

As a CBRE Sustainability Intern, you will work on projects, learn about the business, make industry connections, and develop both hard and soft skills related to sustainability in real estate.

This job is part of the Americas Consulting Sustainability Solutions job function. They work with clients to help align real estate and sustainability goals to create long-term value.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with a dedicated mentor to acquire hands-on industry experience.

  • Assist with client project work, including researching, analyzing data, writing memos and reports, and creating presentations.

  • Assist in evaluating client sustainability projects and solutions across a range of topic areas, such as decarbonization and net zero strategy, renewable energy, energy and water efficiency, green leasing, electric vehicles, regulatory compliance, and sustainability planning, certification, and reporting.

  • Collaborate with internal teams on research, marketing, and other special projects and requests.

  • Bring creative solutions to improve existing workflows, processes, and communications.

  • Take notes and minutes during internal and external meetings.

  • Attend company networking events, workshops, and online seminars.

  • Perform administrative duties associated within the department.

  • High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program, preferably in a sustainability, environmental science, or other related STEM program.

  • Ability to self-direct and work independently without close supervision.

  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.

  • Ability and desire to problem solve in a collaborative setting.

  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
