About the role

As a CBRE Project Management Director, you'll be responsible for project management services within anassigned geographic market, program, or client accountand will lead the construction project management team to achieve strategic business objectives.

Proven experience working on large ground-up construction projects is strongly desired. The selected Director will be required to report to the office or project sites a minimum of three days per week in the Miami area or Tampa, FL area.

This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion.

What you’ll do

  • Direct all phases of the process for clients including procurement, contracting, planning, tracking, and execution, and ensure that contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeouts are accurate, timely, and compliant.

  • Develop new business growth and maintain existing business relationships.

  • Maintain full responsibility for the financial performance of market, program, and client accounts.

  • Identify project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk mitigation and backup plans.

  • Apply a robust knowledge of multiple disciplines, the business, and key drivers that impact departmental and cross-functional performance

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.

  • Identify and address multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.

  • Significantly improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.

  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

  • Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of experience. LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designation(s) preferred.

  • Proven experience working with large ground-up, core and shell, development services or prior experience working with a large general contractor is strongly desired.

  • General knowledge of leases, contracts, and construction practices and the ability to read architectural drawings is desired.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems

  • Leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple department results within a function.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Expert interpersonal skills and an advanced inquisitive and growth mindset.

  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
