This position is part of the Sustainability Team within CBRE’s Americas Consulting organization. This team provides a broad array of services for commercial real estate clients related to overall sustainability strategy, decarbonization assessments, greenhouse gas inventories, circular economy, renewable energy, electric vehicles, investor ESG certifications (e.g., GRESB), among others. This role, Decarbonization Audits Leader, is responsible for the management of sustainability-related audit services. This position will be required to partner closely with our in-house team, or, where necessary, select outside vendors, obtain quotes for their services, use the pricing model to develop a cost, and create a proposal for submission to the client. The field of audit types range from Facilities Conditions Assessments, ASHRAE Audits, and Decarbonization Audits. The work around decarbonization includes assessments of switching from gas-fired to electric equipment (e.g., heat pumps, VRF systems) and building envelope improvements among others. The work can be virtual or sited based in nature. Collaborating with a large cross functional team, you’ll have the ability to engage as a leader as well as an individual contributor. This position is a key member of the team and will have the opportunity to work across all business sectors on all types of buildings.

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical experience, have highly developed communication skills, direct experience in the energy efficiency market with a strong background working in the Facility Management service field.

What You’ll do:

•Provide timely and accurate audits services, acting as a project manager to ensure cradle to grave success. Drive revenue by audits and the further connection to projects work managed by CBRE.

•Manage and coordinate audits with internal CBRE staff and outside vendors, and coordinate deliverables with account teams and clients.

•Manage the timeline and data collection duties required for a successful audit report.

•Provide QA/QC review of audit reports before they reach the client.

•Engage with operations and procurement to ensure the correct CBRE Service lines are engaged and represented in the reports. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.

What You’ll need:

•Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university, Master’s degree preferred. Preferred fields of study such as Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Sustainability, Building Science, Environmental Studies.

•5 to 7 years Performing Energy Audits, Certified Energy Auditor, or equivalent.

•Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

•Ability to effectively and clearly present information from written energy reports and findings.

•Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex energy and sustainability topics to employees, clients, top management.

•Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory reporting experience or training preferred.

•Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.

•Ability to turn loosely defined opportunities into tangible action items with measurable outcomes and deliverables. This includes keen awareness around the importance of the customer experience.

•Experience with Building Automation, HVAC systems, building construction.

•Demonstrated project management skills.

•Ability to present using video conferencing software.

•Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

•Experience to acquire data as required from market channels and conduct data analysis to prove business case, proficiency on Microsoft software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to meet and achieve internal and client deliverables within short time frames.

•Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, Return on Investments, cash flow proformas. Conducts financial/business analysis as part of the preparation of reports.

•CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $150,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $170,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
