This is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Our BT Workplace team provide a full range of building maintenance services to their 7,000 buildings in the UK, from commercial offices and telephone exchanges to call centres and retail shops.
The role:
The BT Account Environmental Advisor will support the HSE Manager (ESG Lead) and will work closely with BT Property and Facilities Services Team, as well as BT Units to ensure key policy and Environment Management System (14001) requirements are developed, implemented and adhered to. This role will also work key supply chain partners and other external agencies ensuring legal, policy and best practice requirements are a key focus and directly impact BT’s ISO 14001 certification. This role is based on customer site in Manchester.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Supporting the development of a proactive environmental management strategy to ensure that the BT Account and its CFUs comply with all relevant environmental and sustainability legislation, industry standards and other requirements that impact on their business activities.
Review and where required develop policy, process and governance controls
Supporting the BT PFS Subject Matter Expert on all matters relating to the environment and sustainability in order to provide accurate and timely advice to BT CFUs, colleagues and clients on maintaining the highest standards of environmental and sustainability management.
Support in maintenance of the ISO14001 and ensuring that both BT PFS and retains its certification to the standard.
Continually reviewing the effectiveness of the environmental and sustainability management strategy, developing and updating policies and processes as appropriate to ensure that BT PFS remains at the leading edge in environmental management.
Promotion of good environmental and sustainability practice to stakeholders to establish a positive culture in environmental management and supporting the development of improvements in environmental and sustainability performance.
Supporting the maintenance of databases and information systems and undertaking analysis of performance indicators to support the development of BT PFS environment and sustainability improvement plans.
Engagement with key stakeholders and forums, to promote positive environmental/sustainability values and jointly develop initiatives for the continuous improvement of environmental/sustainability performance.
Providing technical advice and support maintaining compliance with environmental/sustainability requirements.
Establishing and maintaining links with key external agencies and peer organisations to benchmark environmental/sustainability management programme and keep up to date with leading practice in environmental management methodologies.
Supporting with the delivery BT environmental reporting requirements.
Person Specification:
Environment/ Sustainability Degree or IEMA Qualification Require
Previous Experience in Environment Management System Management
Environmental audit experience
Policy and procedure development
Microsoft Office Application Proficiency
Excellent Stakeholder Management Skills
Property and/or Telecoms experience preferred
Project Management experience advantageous
Willingness to travel to key BT locations across the UK regularly.
