About the role

Working under limited supervision, uses sophisticated building maintenance skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, building systems and equipment, vehicles, and grounds across multiple industries/ buildings within a route. Use trade skills such as refrigeration, welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

What you’ll do

Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Assign and manage work for self and team. Supports all administrative functions associated with lead role.

Estimates time and materials to complete repair. Order materials to finish the tasks. Uses CMMS to handle work orders and track completion. Handle materials log for team of technicians.

Responsible for installation and modification of building equipment systems.

Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC/R, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and environmental conditions prescribed by client.

Supervise and inspect the work performed by outside contractors.

Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently.

Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

Respond to emergency situations, summoning assistance as needed.

Collaborate with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime to minimize business interruption and inconvenience.

Field work order related calls from technicians to help trouble-shoot and communicate updates. May serve as a mentor to other technicians.

Completes other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

Must be bilingual in English and Spanish

Associate degree (AA) or equivalent and 5 years of demonstrated ability in complete building operations. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior RTU and refrigeration experience preferred.

EPA 608 / CFC Certification preferred.

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks. Possess skills to functionally operate a "full size" van/truck.

Ability to problem solve. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work.
