About the role

As the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and regulatory compliance issues.

  • Provide guidance and support to operations, engineering, and project teams on HSE-related matters.

  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis for incidents, near misses, and environmental incidents; develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Coordinate employee training programs on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and environmental compliance.

  • Manage and maintain records related to environmental permits, inspections, and reporting requirements (e.g., EPCRA, hazardous waste, SPCC, SWPP).

  • Stay current with regulations and industry trends; update policies and practices accordingly.

  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with HSE standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety, reduce environmental impact, and optimize performance metrics.

  • Prepare and present HSE reports and performance metrics to senior management.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Additional certifications as required by the local authority.

  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry standards.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Experience with ISO 14001 or 45001 management systems

  • Proficiency in EHS management software.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.

  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
