About the role

The Refrigeration Technician supports the operations of the Thermal Service Department both in the field and occasionally in the shop. Assists with customer needs and work order management. Works closely with fellow technicians, Administrative Staff, and Project Managers. The primary focus of this role is meeting the customer thermal/refrigeration service needs.

Location: Orange County, CA or North County San Diego

This role requires 25% to 50% overnight travel, including local/ regional travel

What you’ll do!

  • Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and shop infrastructure work on various specialized hot and cold equipment

  • Field work may include pick-up and delivery of equipment, field service, shop service/repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance of refrigerated (and some non-refrigerated) scientific equipment including freezers, refrigerators, lyophilizers, vacuum pumps, and other types of equipment.

  • Provides support for servicing customers’ specialty equipment in shop.

  • Review work orders including, but not limited to: written work descriptions.

  • Maintain labor and material costing requirements on all jobs.

  • May be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and “on-call” as needed.

WILL WORK WITH THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT/ SERVICE LINE:

Environmental Test Chambers, Lyophilizers, Cold Room Service, Chillers (PMs), Dehumidifiers, Humidity Boilers, Sterilization/Autoclaves (PMs), Cage Rack Washers, glass Washers, RO Systems, among others

What you’ll need

Education and/or experience

  • High School Diploma and minimum 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Prior experience in scientific or specialized refrigeration, or sterilization strongly preferred.

Work environment

  • The noise level is moderate (may be loud on some job sites). Climates vary out of doors; typically ranging from 45-115 degrees. Office work is performed in a comfortable office environment. Customers’ facilities where work may often be performed can vary depending upon type of work. Lowest temperature exposure (freezers & cold rooms) -4 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius). Highest temperature exposure (sterilization) 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius).

  • Daily driving in local territory is required as may be occasional overnight travel outside of home city

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $70,000 annually, and the maximum salary for the position is $100,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
