About the Role

As a CBRE Energy Analyst, you will assist in supporting the implementation of energy initiatives for a small to medium-sized site, region, or account.

This job is part of the Energy and Sustainability function. They are responsible for the development and implementation of environmental and social sustainability programs.

What You’ll Do

Identify cost savings opportunities and budgets for utilities. Assist with the coordination of energy procurement and energy-related projects on behalf of client accounts.

Prepare and analyze monthly utility data and review to validate normalized savings, develop exception reports for senior management, explanation of potential variances and year-over-year trends.

Maintain, review, and evaluate utility bill data.

Provide basic energy and sustainability-related input to preventative maintenance and engineering procedures.

Help with the development of site energy profiles, site surveys, and energy plans. Gather and organize all support documentation as directed.

Collect and analyze monthly electricity, water/sewer, and natural gas/oil usage data with commentary on actual usage versus expected usage.

Process data workbooks from all applicable data sources.

Review data and validate energy savings resulting from operational programs designed to curtail utility consumption.

Compare collected data against industry benchmarks and prepare reports of findings.

Lead the analysis of various informational outputs from partner systems, internal program components and system tools.

Coordinate energy and sustainability initiatives, monitor compliance, analyze, and communicate externally facing reporting.

Communicate and request information from different business units for strategic sustainability reporting initiatives.

Collect, capture, and report on invoices from landlords.

Educate partners about sophisticated sustainability initiatives.

Review all data inputs to ensure the accuracy and timely submission of required reports. Ensure that errors are corrected within the appropriate time frame and are called out properly.

Provide recommendations on process improvements needed for quality in service delivery.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 3 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.

  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mentality.

  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
